You may be familiar with the term 'Up North', but what exactly is it? 'Up North' is a state of mind.
It's getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's where the air you breathe is a little fresher, the trees more colorful...the sky bluer...and people smile alot more. It's where you feel your cares slip away and the world looks a little brighter.

It's right here at the Little Pine! It's waking up in the morning and hearing the majestic call of the loons. It's walking out your door and seeing the sun rise over beautiful pine trees. It's relaxing at night around a roaring campfire and gazing at the bright stars above. It's hiking, biking or ATVing in the scenic Nicolet National Forest and seeing more native wildlife than people. It's being on any number of area lakes surrounded by nature's beauty as you catch an abundance of fish. It's spending quality time with family and friends.

1) There is not one single stop light in Hiles, or in Forest County, for that matter. No traffic congestion, or trafffic delays, just quiet, serene roads that take you through the scenic northwoods.
2) Hiles isthe largest...that's right, the largest...township in Wisconsin in square miles. It has 132 square miles, larger than Milwaukee or Madison. Lots of miles...and lots of smiles.
3) 75% of Hiles is lakes or state and national forest, where there's plenty of fishing, hunting, ATV and snowmobile trails, and hiking and biking trails that take you through miles of beautiful scenery.

Enjoy life Northwoods style, and in a way that doesn't cost more. Like roaring campfires at night at one of our two campfire pits. Or a walk on our nature trails, and see wildlife such as deer and eagles. Or enjoy a cookout at our picnic area - and we provide the charcoal grills.

Let us introduce ourselves. We're Mark and Julie Ferris, and have been coming up to Hiles for many, many years. We enjoy the many fun and relaxing activities the area has to offer. We're excited to be the new owners of the Little Pine, and look forward to meeting you, and making your stay enjoyable. You may see a few new changes around here, but you can still expect to receive the same friendly hospitality the Little Pine is known for.
Spring is here and that means summer isn't far behind. We're opening May 2nd, in time for the opening weekend of fishing season.

The Little Pine Announces New Owners!!! The Little Pine has recently been sold. The new owners, Mark and Julie Ferris, recently purchased the motel. Coming up to Hiles for years, both are excited to take over the Little Pine and plan to continue to provide friendly, personable service the Little Pine has become known for. Dale and Nancy will continue to be around to assist as needed.
