What is 'Up North?'

You may be familiar with the term 'Up North', but what exactly is it? 'Up North' is a state of mind.

It's getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's where the air you breathe is a little fresher, the trees more colorful...the sky bluer...and people smile alot more. It's where you feel your cares slip away and the world looks a little brighter.

Where is 'Up North?'

It's right here at the Little Pine!  It's waking up in the morning and hearing the majestic call of the loons. It's walking out your door and seeing the sun rise over beautiful pine trees. It's relaxing at night around a roaring campfire and gazing at the bright stars above. It's hiking, biking or ATVing in the scenic Nicolet National Forest and seeing more native wildlife than people. It's being on any number of area lakes surrounded by nature's beauty as you catch an abundance of fish. It's spending quality time with family and friends.

That's 'Up north'.

And you'll find it here at the Little Pine.

So we offer more than what a typical motel offers. We offer a simpler way of relaxation and fun! And at about the same nightly rate as your ordinary motel!!

There's nothing like the Crandon/Three Lakes/Eagle River area for some of the best fishing Wisconsin has to offer. One mile from the motel is Pine Lake, a 1,700 acre lake with panfish, bass and northern. Eight miles from the motel starts the chain of lakes, which features 30 lakes where you can catch that trophy northern, walleye, and everything in between. And here at the Little Pine we have a fully-supplied fish house where you can clean your catch!!

The Little Pine... 30 lakes within a 15 minute Drive.
For quietness and relaxation, there is no place better than the Hiles area and nearby Pine Lake, only one mile from the Little Pine. Nestled in the Nicolet National Forest, the area offers some of the most picturesque beauty in the northwoods, an abundance of lakes for fishing, hundreds of miles of ATV trails, and is close to hiking/biking trails and canoe routes. And you'll often see wildlife like deer, and birds such as loons and eagles. And for fishing, 1,700 acre Pine Lake is well known for it's panfish, bass, crappies and northern. And the lake is very peaceful as there is very little waterski/ jetski traffic.

For food and drink, two blocks away is the Pine Lake Pub/Cafe, which offers breakfast, delicious broasted chicken and great Friday fish frys. Also nearby is Ed's Main Street Inn, a quiet out-of-the-way place that's known for having the most mouth-watering food in the northwoods. Enjoy Main Street Inn classics like jumbo shrimp, bourbon beef tenders, and whiskey river boneless pork chops. And during the summer delight in the taste and smell as all steaks are cooked over an outdoor open flame. And all at very reasonable prices. And for breakfast visit the Sunset Grill, only 8 miles from the Little Pine near Three Lakes, with it's large breakfast menu and friendly staff.

And yet with all the peacefulness and serenity that Hiles and the Little Pine Motel offers, we're only a few miles from Crandon, Three Lakes and the Eagle River area.
